FAMILY LIAISON/SUBSTITUTE (MATERNITY LEAVE) – EL PRIMER PASO

El Primer Paso Ltd., a nonprofit bilingual educational services corporation serving preschool children and their families, is seeking to employ a full-time Family Liaison/Substitute for a Maternity Leave position. Duties will include assisting in the classroom, as needed, and supporting parents through information, referral, follow-up, and parent education programs. The successful candidate will also be able to assist the Executive Director with marketing strategies using social media.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of college (A.A. degree or working toward Bachelor’s) in education, social work or a related field.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish). Able to handle face-to-face and phone conversations, read and translate letters and other documents.
  • Self-directed individual who can follow through with assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to interact comfortably with parents, children, staff and the general public.
  • Some experience working with preschool age children.
  • Social media marketing experience desirable.

Terms of employment:

  • Maternity leave position (March 2026 through October 2026)
  • 40 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule with some evenings

INFANT/TODDLER PROGRAM ASSISTANT – ACORN ACADEMY

Acorn Academy LLC in Madison, NJ is looking for an energetic individual to work in our infant/toddler program. We strive to maintain a family-like feel to the environment, provide opportunities for family involvement, celebrate diversity within the community, and support staff in their continued education.

Acorn Academy LLC is open 7:30am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday, January-December. The full-time position hours will fall within this time frame.

Some expectations include but not limited to:

  • Support the classroom instruction based on the Creative Curriculum
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom
  • Manage the classroom with positive discipline
  • Communicate well with co-workers/parents/administrative staff
  • Take required annual training courses
  • Supervising supportive staff members

All interested individuals need to have:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in early childhood education
  • An associate’s degree in a related field and/or working on their CDA/associate’s degree/bachelor’s degree.
  • Fluent in English and some knowledge of a second language
