Child Care Assistance Program Updates
The Department of Human Services has reopened the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) for a limited number of slots.
The process of applying for the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) has changed. To be considered for the opportunity to apply for CCAP benefits, you must first complete a Registration Form by clicking here.
The Registration Form is now available through the link below the Frequently Asked Questions on this webpage as well. No documents are needed in order to complete the Registration Form. You will receive a confirmation email that your Registration Form was received.
The opportunity to apply will first be issued to families with very low incomes, families needing care for children with special needs, and families experiencing homelessness in accordance with federal and state law.
You will remain on the registration list until you are given the opportunity to apply, at which time you will receive an email that will include instructions and a personalized application link.
If you have an existing CCAP case, and you wish to add a child to your case, please contact our office immediately.
Due to the limited capacity, not all applicants who fall into the groups listed above and who are invited to apply may be granted assistance.
Sunshine I Program
This program is for individuals impacted by a temporary or permanent disability. Parents or legal guardians may be able to gain access to affordable child care for their dependents between the ages of 6 weeks and 13 years of age. DOWNLOAD BROCHURE.
Sunshine II Program
This program is for individuals who are 60 years of age or older, frail, vulnerable or disabled and need assistance with child care for the summer. Eligible parents or legal guardians may be able gain access to summer camp services for their dependents. DOWNLOAD BROCHURE.
Work First New Jersey
If you are a participant in this program you immediately qualify for financial assistance for the child care you select.
Preschool Advantage

Head Start Community Program of Morris County
Head Start provides free, comprehensive early childhood development and family services to low-income families living in Morris County. VISIT THEIR WEBSITE.
Public Preschool
Preschool programming is offered in some public school districts, funded by the State of New Jersey. Families must reside in these municipalities to participate. The child must be three or four before the cutoff date determined by the participating school district. This program includes before and after school and summer care for income eligible families. The State of New Jersey, Department of Education, Division of Early Childhood Education governs the funding of these programs. CLICK HERE to obtain more information.
