Core Services

Child & Family Resources (CFR) is Morris County’s local Child Care Resource and Referral Agency. CFR provides many different services including child care referral and other parenting supports, child care provider trainings and technical, as well as other efforts to increase the quality and availability of child care. Programs are funded in partnership by the NJ Department of Human Services Division of Family Development.

CORE SERVICES INCLUDE:

Child Care Resource & Referral (R&R)

We engage and partner with parents, child care professionals and the community to ensure that all families have access to a nurturing, motivating and inspiring early care and education system for their children ages birth through 13 years.

Services for Parents

  • Referrals to local child care providers.
  • Consumer Education: How to select a quality program for your child and family.
  • Financial Assistance for eligible families.
  • Access to community resources for children of varying abilities.
  • Assistance with building a collaborative relationship with your caregiver.
  • Workshops that build parenting skills.
  • Certified Parent Coaching Sessions.
  • Supervised Visitation Services

Services for Child Care Programs & Providers

• Family Child Care Provider Registration, Technical Assistance, & Training
• Assisting new child care providers with the start-up process
• Helping providers meet licensing requirements
• Offering low-cost or free trainings in topics like health and safety, child development, and sound business practices
• Working with local and state governments and the private sector to leverage resources for building and maintaining the supply of quality child care
• Providing ongoing professional development opportunities to child care providers and staff
• Supporting accreditation programs
• Advocating for better pay for providers

Child & Family Resources helps bridge child care and education.
Quality child care has many benefits, including preparing children for school. CFR strives to support child care settings that help children grow and learn by supporting providers with training, coaching and continuing education. We also support quality early learning by:

  • Informing parents about child development, early learning and what quality child care programs look like.
  • Informing communities about the important links between early learning and later success in school and the vital role that child care providers play in making sure children are learning what they need to be ready to start school.

Violence & Abuse Prevention

Prevention of violence against children, youth, and adults begins with each of us as adults, parents, caregivers, and teachers. Child& Family Resources offers a range of programs and services to reduce violence in the lives of children.
